About the ship:

Grip Austral and Grip Antarctic were originally well-boats named “Gerda Sæle” and “Viking Atlantic”. The vessels have been refurbished into modern multi-use vessels for the aquaculture industry, equipped with state-of-the-art live fish handling systems.

The length of the two live-fish carriers has been increased with 17,5 and 15 metres, respectively. Both vessels are currently on assignment in Chile.

Service and solutions:

Elpro had the pleasure of handling engineering, project management and all electric installations for the refurbishment.

Our factory designed, manufactured, and delivered new custom-made main switchboards for both vessels, and new bridge consoles for Grip Antarctic. We also installed new navigation systems from Furuno on the bridges (new radars, ECDIS, GPS etc.), a new generator, and handled all cabling and electrical installation.
